Portugal in April > Operation Spectrum

 

- Police visited 230 studios/companies  (creatives, design, multimedia, etc.). In 86 studios they detected illegal software copies.

- 466 computers were apprehended (over 2100 illegal copies installed). estimated value = 2.3 million Euros

- 45% of the businesses with illegal software got ALL their computers apprehended. 68% got 2/3 or more computers apprehended.

It's really hard to understand how these companies do their business.

What's up with that? They get paid to do a job, and choose proprietary software to do it, why don't they pay the licenses?

Don't want to pay? I think the solution it's pretty obvious...

Bet the fees they're going to pay are much more than the license fees (not to mention bankrupcy)
