Portugal in April > Operation Spectrum
- Police visited 230 studios/companies (creatives, design, multimedia, etc.). In 86 studios they detected illegal software copies.
- 466 computers were apprehended (over 2100 illegal copies installed). estimated value = 2.3 million Euros
- 45% of the businesses with illegal software got ALL their computers apprehended. 68% got 2/3 or more computers apprehended.
It's really hard to understand how these companies do their business.
What's up with that? They get paid to do a job, and choose proprietary software to do it, why don't they pay the licenses?
Don't want to pay? I think the solution it's pretty obvious...
Bet the fees they're going to pay are much more than the license fees (not to mention bankrupcy)
