When google announced they we're building an open source OS, I think there were no surprises about the impact that the OS would have.
Google is a powerful name and most companies want to be associated with it. I knew big names would come up but I wouldn't expected them to be there so soon:)
From their offcial blog these are the current partners: Acer, Adobe, ASUS, Freescale, Hewlett-Packard, Lenovo, Qualcomm, Texas Instruments, and Toshiba.
What do you think? What's the impact of this new OS in the open source community?
1- more free software OS to choose/try/use
2- HUGE evolution for interoperability (Adobe's applications running GNU/Linux out of the box) and more companies and studios migrating to GNU/Linux
3- help several free software applications to grow and make their way into the industry... can you imagine if Blender is the main 3D tool in Chrome OS? :D
